FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS - FAQ

SMART TAGS (MOBILE SENSORS)

They are intelligent devices, capable of processing and transmitting data over the internet, which are carried by operators throughout their work routine.

In addition, they are devices based on Android smartphones, but which do not have any characteristics of a smartphone for personal use, where the operator will only have access to applications and functionalities aimed at facilitating their day-to-day work, and which are previously released by the company. .

Novidá created a solution that seeks to add value to all operational characters, from the COO to the operator, on the factory floor.

We were only able to provide a practical solution, which could be inclusive to the operator, easy to install and maintain and with low indirect costs (such as sockets and internet in the environment) with an intelligent device such as the Smart Tag.

Yes, it would, but not in our value proposition.

Real-time process monitoring needs to be supported with intelligence at the end, with the operator. And that’s only possible with a smart device like the Smart Tag.

All other devices are nothing more than an electronic collar: They do not generate value for the operator and create an extremely harmful environment for the use of the solution, with the exclusive purpose of “knowing where the guy is” and nothing else.

As a company, we do not believe in and abhor such an approach.

NO! And we don’t recommend this way either, even if you have wifi!

Yes, the Smart tag could be connected to your company’s Wifi, but there are real risks of data loss, mainly because corporate WiFi solutions are not used to the information transmission standard that we use in Smart Tags (small and constant packets of data – IoT), not allowing them to be transmitted.

We always recommend using mobile internet in Smart Tags. We have partnerships with the two main operators in Brazil and providing this connectivity facilitates the adoption of the solution, with maximum quality.

Power, you can. But there are limitations to this.

Physical: Devices need to be fully recharged in order to be reused and withstand an intensive work shift.

Legal: There is a risk in relation to the exposure of personal data and GDPR, as there is no way to guarantee that the user will log out of their account at the end of the shift

Responsibility for the equipment: How to guarantee and hold someone responsible in case of malfunctions to the Smart Tag, if there is no one responsible? We recommend the same procedure done with the notebooks of the administrative staff.

In this way, our orientation is always the 1×1 relationship between Smart tag and user.

The battery of a smart tag supports up to 15 hours of continuous battery life, depending on how much it is used during the day and, especially, 4G coverage in your region, which can accelerate battery consumption.

Most of the time, she can easily handle a work shift.

Smart tag is prepared to withstand adverse conditions of use and environment.
Temperature: Smart Tag supports working between -30 to 70 degrees Celsius
Environment: It does not have special IP67 protection, but it is resistant to splashes, drops and is reinforced with film and anti-shock cover.

FIXED SENSORS

They are sensors used to transmit a radio frequency wave continuously. In the case of our platform, we chose BLE sensors, or Beacons, for their ease, maintenance and very low cost compared to any other technology on the market. In addition to being the one that works best with smart tags.

ConteúThe battery life of Novidá’s fixed sensors is approximately 48 months. But in a preventive way, Novidá always replaces the batteries at each contract renewal or 24 months after installation, whichever is less.do da sanfona

Theoretically, the coverage of a sensor similar to that of Novidá can go up to 100m of radius, but the quality of its signal drops too much after 10m of radius, which is the maximum standard we use in our system. From there, we have some default settings within our platform to make it easier to install and use.

Only if it’s important! Our solution is designed and modulated to provide the correct coverage of the business process. If there are large areas within the company that are not part of the routine of the team we are managing, we do not need to cover that area. The system will already identify that the person is out of the work area, and will make the appropriate processing of non-productive time.

Our system can work with a maximum accuracy level of 2.5m radius between Smart Tag and Fixed Sensor. In 99.9% of use cases related to people and their movements, this range fully meets. Below that, only different, and exponentially more expensive, technologies like UWB can handle it.

The Fixed Sensor is prepared to withstand adverse conditions of use and environment.
Temperature: The sensor supports working between -35 to 65 degrees Celsius
Environment: Fixed sensor has IP67 protection that withstands humidity, weather exposure and rain.

Extremely easy! The sensors already come to you with 100% battery and can be fixed in up to 3 ways: 3M tape, screws or nylon clamps. Just define the location (needs to be free of obstacles) and install.

Like all radiofrequency devices, Novidá sensors also suffer from interference from the environment, such as metals, humidity, etc. 99% of these interferences do not impact the solution, as long as the step-by-step installation of our solution is respected.

GENERAL

Novidá is a platform under service (SaaS). Access to analyses, operation settings and KPIS queries are all done remotely via the internet, using your preferred browser. Access is given by a specific address that you will receive access to once you become a subscriber.

It can, but not like in a Waze, for example. And that’s on purpose!

The focus of the solution, as we reinforce in all our communication, is not to be an electronic collar for the operator, but to point out times and movements and focus on measuring the allocation and productivity of each person.

One of our screens is the operator(s) movement, but our experience tells us that, apart from the recreational and momentary curiosity to see the system working, it does not generate value in decision making.

In addition, our system has several statistical treatments to avoid data errors (unlike waze itself, which often makes mistakes and changes lanes on an avenue frequently) and supports variations in operator connectivity (such as an operator in an area with no coverage mobile network).

All this brings precision to the data, but interferes with the response time of the position on the map, ending up not being an instantaneous positioning system on the map.

Our focus was on the quality of information for assertive decision making at the expense of entertainment.

NO! Novidá is a platform oriented towards the productivity of operators in their different functions, and not a telemetry system. By the way, the KPIs we generate are very different and complementary to the telemetry and automation systems of the vehicles.

No, because we are not a telemetry system.

The Vehicles module helps managers manage the allocation of operators of internal vehicles, such as forklifts, to measure their productivity. The KPIs generated on the vehicle are based on their use by the driver(s), thus producing indicators of use, allocation and productive time of the driver and, consequently, of the vehicle.

The Smart Tag is a device oriented and designed to support the operator and must be carried by him throughout the entire working day. In this way it is not possible to leave the smart tag in the vehicle.

There are important concepts to clarify about allocation, productivity and work results.

The automatic management of times and movements helps us with crucial information, which companies do not have ways to obtain today at competitive costs, which is the real allocation of their operators during their daily routines.

Allocation and productive time are an important part of the information, but they do not close the complete cycle of productivity, for sure. Even for this reason, we encourage customers to use other metrics to cross-reference with productive allocation to bring real and super accurate data on productivity. As in the case of teams that have planning, follow the records and notes in the Novidá Activities Application (or another checklist that is using in the Smart Tag or in the notes made in SAP, for example) or even for production line functions, the your system’s machine OEE information and the hourly takt time.

Do you realize the wealth of analysis that this can bring you, knowing the real allocation of man hours per production cycle or task completion? That’s because we don’t even talk about the quality of the work that, in fact, there are no automatic systems that can guarantee or replace human analysis.

In more than 90% of our customers, productive allocation as a single piece of information already guides important decisions that impact the operators’ overall productivity. In the others, the intersections with their existing systems bring a unique vision for decision making.

It is a solution that has no legal or labor problems. Civil Law supports companies in the use of our solution, as long as there is no invasion of privacy in this monitoring. And the way we built the solution guarantees 100% employee privacy, as long as the company respects the rules for installing and configuring the solution on its premises.

If this is a point of doubt, our commercial team has several reports from renowned law firms in Brazil validating the issue. At the appropriate time of hiring, we can share with your legal department, if necessary.
